No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your Eleonas vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight often lies in your choice in clothes. Prepare for changes in temperature by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin starts to cool down. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left in your checked suitcase. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you for it.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a serious condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. The good news is there are ways to reduce your risk of developing it. Stay hydrated, wander around the cabin whenever possible and wear compression socks or tights.
