No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Elkview escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good read. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to take a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
