- Air travel can be easy if you pack the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Secondly, make room in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any vital medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and opt for shoes that are flat and easy to remove.
- The result of prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your ankles and legs moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
