Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well. Take a peek at these handy tips and tricks that will get your Fitii vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a pleasure if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, blades, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could injure passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your airplane are no fashion runway. Layer up with comfortable clothing and take a cardigan as it can get quite cool in the cabin. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a wise idea.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-haul flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another simple way to help reduce this risk.
