Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy tips that will help get your Flotta Isle escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you carry the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a sharp object lurking in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your airplane are no fashion runway. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and remember to bring a sweater as it can get chilly inside the cabin during longer flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this from happening. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression tights or socks can also help.
