No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Fontibre escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Layer up with loose, breathable clothing and pack a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Pick a pair of roomy, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your luggage.
- Caused by sustained periods of immobility, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a condition that can affect some passengers during long flights. But the good news is there are ways to reduce your risk of developing it. Stay well hydrated, get up and walk around the cabin whenever possible and wear compression tights or socks.
