Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to Fort Jones could be a breeze or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some useful travel tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack your passport, travel documents, cash and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a phone filled with your favorite shows are some great options. If you hope to catch up on some sleep, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you arrive at your destination feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and bring a cardigan as it can get chilly in the cabin during long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance flying is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help minimize this risk.
