Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organized. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Glenflesk vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having an amazing flight experience is to pack in advance. So, let's start with the basics: passport, boarding pass, cash and medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help keep you busy, like some electronic gadgets or a good book. You'll also want to bring your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones. Last but not least, don't forget to pop in toiletry items like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a spare set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and pack a sweater as it can get chilly inside the cabin during longer flights. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also recommended.
- A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a good pair of compression socks or tights is also a wise idea.
