If you're poorly prepared, traveling can be overwhelming. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips for a stress-free start to your time in Grade. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when deciding what to wear on board. Loose clothing is a sensible choice, as are flat, closed-toe shoes.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To lessen your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your feet and legs moving.
