No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Grasten vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack your passport, travel docs, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favorite movies are good options. If you intend to take a short snooze, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll step off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between air carriers, the general rule to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes tools, metal cutlery, spray paint and fireworks. Sports equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could harm other people, such as firearms and ammunition, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and choose shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to remove.
- The result of sustained periods of immobility, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long-haul flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your legs and ankles moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
