If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be daunting. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these helpful hints for a trouble-free start to your vacation in Hauru. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, travel documents, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a laptop filled with your favorite shows are some great options. If you plan to catch up on some sleep, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you touchdown looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
