Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Healy could be as easy as pie or it could drag on forever. We've pulled together some handy tips that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any daily medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and don't forget to bring a cardigan as the temperature can drop inside the cabin. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are always a good idea too.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
