Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Hörken escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, official ID, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a phone filled with your favorite movies are some great options. If you plan to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, make room for a few toiletry items so you'll step off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and pick shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
