If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be a real challenge. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these helpful hints for a comfortable start to your time in Kapan. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, put in your passport, travel docs, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are some wonderful options. If you plan to catch a few z's, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you arrive feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a pocket knife lurking in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable substances, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Don layers of natural fibers and remember to bring a pullover just in case you get chilly. Pick a pair of flat, well-fitting shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your luggage.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks or tights also helps reduce the risk.
