Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organized. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Keel vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a great flight experience is to pack ahead. First up, the essentials: passport, travel documents, credit cards and any vital medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help keep you entertained, like some electronic gadgets or a juicy novel. It's also a wise idea to pack your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earphones. Last but not least, don't forget to chuck in toiletries like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a clean set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Pick slip-on footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
