Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to Kerkhoven could be no sweat at all or it could drag on forever. We've put together some handy tips that will help you start your next great adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you take the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your bag for your phone and charger, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your airplane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and don't forget to bring a sweater as the temperature can drop in the cabin during long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are also recommended.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are another great idea to help lower your risk.
