If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be testing. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints and enjoy a worry-free start to your time in La Crescent. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, make room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like box cutters, razor blades, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like bows and arrows, and objects that could harm other people, such as swords and batons, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
