Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to La Florida could be simple and straightforward or it could drag on forever. We've compiled some handy travel tips that will help you start your next great escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Pick shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
