Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organized. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Lagosa vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a hassle-free flight experience is to pack in advance. First up, the essentials: passport, travel documents, credit cards and daily medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you entertained, like your laptop or a juicy novel. It's also wise to bring your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Last but not least, don't forget to squeeze in toiletries like a toothbrush, lip balm and a clean set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your highest priority when deciding what to wear on board. Consider your choice of footwear with care too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are a common side effect of flying. Shoes which are flat and slightly roomy are your best bet.
- Caused by sustained periods of immobility, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. The good news is there are numerous ways to reduce your risk of developing it. Drink plenty of water, walk up and down the aisles as much as possible and wear compression tights or socks.
