No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Latsi vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a stress-free travel experience is to be prepared. So, let's start with the essentials: passport, official ID, bank cards and any vital medications. Next, take on board items that'll help pass the time, like your laptop or a thrilling novel. You'll also want to bring your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones. And of course, don't forget to chuck in toiletry items like a toothbrush, lip balm and a spare set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like tools, metal cutlery, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like golf clubs, and objects that could injure passengers, such as pepper spray and guns, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to take a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
