We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be zooming through the airport and having a ball in Le Bacon in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to bring a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
