Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organized. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Lohman vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Next, find room in your bag for your phone and charger, any daily medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to feel as comfortable as you can. Layer up with loose, breathable clothing and pack a sweater in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Pick roomy, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your checked luggage.
- The serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression tights or socks also helps reduce your risk.
