We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and exploring Losar in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to bring a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
