Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of top travel tips that will help get your Lucile vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a hassle-free travel experience is to be prepared. Start with the essentials: passport, boarding pass, credit cards and any vital medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help keep you entertained, like your laptop or a thrilling book. It's also smart to bring your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earphones. Finally, be sure to toss in toiletries like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a clean set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and take a cardigan as it can get quite cool inside the cabin. Enclosed, flat shoes are always a good choice too.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a quality pair of compression tights or socks can also help.
