No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Lusk vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and something to read. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your important medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by layering up, and pick closed-toe, flat footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
