We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and having a ball in McKerrow in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- The result of lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long-haul flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your feet and legs moving and wearing compression socks to help improve your circulation.
