Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy tips that will help get your Melfi vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a worry-free flight experience is to pack in advance. First up, the essentials: passport, official ID, credit cards and vital medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help while away those hours, like your laptop or a magazine. It's also wise to bring your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Last but not least, be sure to pop in toiletry items like a toothbrush, lip balm and a clean set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Pick shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your legs and feet often.
