Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Mery-Corbon could be a piece of cake or it could go on forever. We've put together some useful tips that will help you start your next great adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack your passport, travel docs, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favorite shows are some great options. If you plan to catch forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Don layers of breathable clothing and remember to pack a cardigan just in case you get cold. Opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-haul flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help reduce this risk.
