Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. Check out these essential travel tips that will get your Minaya vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight often lies in your choice of clothing. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left in your checked suitcase. Instead, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you for it.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights also helps reduce the risk.
