We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and exploring Mission in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you take the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to bring a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Most travelers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
