Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Mouxy vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable substances, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Don layers of natural-fiber clothing and remember to pack a jacket just in case you get cold. Pick flat, well-fitting shoes as your feet may swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked baggage.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition that can affect some passengers on long-distance flights. But the good news is there are ways to significantly reduce the risk of developing it. Drink plenty of water, get up and wander the aisles as much as possible and wear compression tights or socks.
