Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your Pedro II vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack your passport, travel documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a phone crammed with your favorite shows are good options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Most travelers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
