Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Pelican escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, official ID, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a phone crammed with your favorite movies are some fantastic options. If you plan to take a short snooze, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll touchdown looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when deciding what to wear on board. Loose clothing is a sensible choice, as are flat, closed-toe shoes.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
