We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and having a ball in Pharping in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Layer up in natural fibers and pack a jacket in case you get cold. Go for a pair of roomy, flat shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked luggage.
- A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a good pair of compression socks also helps reduce your risk.
