If you're poorly prepared, traveling can be tough. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints and enjoy a stress-free start to your getaway in Pierpont. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a hassle-free travel experience is to be prepared. First up, the essentials: passport, boarding pass, cash and medications. Next, bring items that'll help while away those hours, like your laptop or a good book. It's also a wise idea to pack your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earphones. And of course, be sure to squeeze in toiletries like a toothbrush, deodorant and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Dress in loose, natural fibers and pack a cardigan in case it gets cool in the cabin. Go for a pair of well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There are plenty of ways to lessen your risk. Wear a pair of compression socks, drink lots of water and move your legs and feet. Do a lap or two of the cabin or perform some stretches in your seat.
