Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Pyote escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, important documents, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favorite shows are some terrific options. If you plan to take a short snooze, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you touchdown looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a pocket knife lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable substances, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your priority when picking what to wear on board. Consider your footwear with care too, as swollen ankles and feet are a common side effect of flying. Roomy, closed-toed shoes are always a good idea.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-distance flying is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
