Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy tips that will help get your Quevert escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any vital medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight often lies in your choice of clothes. Prepare for changes in temperature by bringing layers. That way you'll stay nice and warm if the cabin starts to cool down. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left for other occasions. Even though they may be your favorites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you for it.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help lower your risk.
