No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organized. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Ragain escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack in your passport, travel documents, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a phone filled with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to catch more than just forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer up with loose, breathable clothing and pack a cardigan just in case you get cold. Always opt for well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the flight. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your luggage.
- Most travelers are aware of DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There's plenty you can do to mitigate your risk. Wear a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights, drink lots of water often and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Wander around the cabin or perform some simple exercises in your seat.
