If you're poorly prepared, traveling can be testing. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips for a pleasant start to your time in Rai Valley. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right things. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like tools, metal cutlery, fireworks and fuel. Sporting equipment like ski poles, and items that could harm other people, such as firearms and swords, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and remember to bring a sweater as it can get quite cool inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also a good idea.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a serious condition that can affect passengers on long-haul flights. But the good news is there are proven ways to significantly reduce the risk of developing it. Keep your fluids up, wander around the cabin as often as you can and wear compression tights or socks.
