Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've put together a list of handy hints that will get your Richelieu vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find room in your bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and choose shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your legs and feet often.
