We've rounded up all the info you need to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and seeing the best of Río Santiago before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be easy if you take the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any vital medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
