We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be zooming through airport security and enjoying Roa before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, put in your passport, official ID, wallet and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a phone crammed with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to take a quick snooze, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, find room for a few toiletry items so you'll arrive at your destination feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Choose easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
