We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and enjoying Safara before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be easy if you carry the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a good read. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and opt for shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
