Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're prepared. Check out these handy travel tips that will get your Saint-Juery vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Choose easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
