Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well prepared. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your Salve escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Go for flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to bring a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- The result of sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers on long-distance flights. Lower your risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs and ankles moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
