If you're not prepared, traveling can be overwhelming. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints and enjoy a comfortable start to your getaway in São Carlos. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack your passport, important documents, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a laptop filled with your favorite shows are some wonderful options. If you hope to take a short snooze, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll hop off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to take a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
