If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be challenging. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks for a comfortable start to your time in Sargents. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when deciding what to wear on board. Consider your footwear choice carefully too, as swollen feet are quite common. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are your best bet.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There are numerous ways to mitigate your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression tights or socks, stay hydrated and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Wander up and down the aisles of the cabin or try out some simple stretches in your seat.
