If you're poorly prepared, traveling can be challenging. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips for a pain-free start to your vacation in Sassenage. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack your passport, important documents, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favorite movies are always good options. If you intend to catch more than just forty winks, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll hop off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your plane are no fashion runway. Layer up with comfortable clothing and don't forget to bring a sweater as it tends to get cool inside the cabin during longer flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- A condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this happening. Wearing a good pair of compression tights or socks may also help.
