Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will help get your Sers vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh change of clothes and a good read. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
