Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well enough. Take a peek at these essential travel tips that will get your Slabberts escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be easy if you pack the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Go for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
